    Great work!

Please can you tell me more about the DDS activation sequence?

    Thanks!

    Thanks :)

For Corsa D, DDS is available in two separate versions.

    1. For cars without ESP
    2. For cars with ESP (comes together with HSA)

For both versions, you need to replace your car's existing ABS control unit.
You can order & buy it new from an Opel/Vauxhall authorized dealer, or you have to find it second-hand via the Internet or used parts shops. There are numerous ABS control units for different years of production. For example Opel changed the control unit connector starting with the model year 2009 and the new one is not backwards compatible. So it is important to find the correct part number for your car. I can help with that when needed.

As I wrote before, the existing center console switch unit has to be replaced with a new one that includes DDS reset button. There are numerous switch units featuring different button combinations, so this one also has to be carefully ordered using the correct part number.

If your car has currently two-button center console switch unit, the upper console cover also has to be replaced with a new one which has the wider aperture for the six-button unit. Again, there are different-colored covers for different interior trim packages but this one is easy to identify in Opel parts catalog.

If your car is equipped with ESP, then you may have to replace the existing ESP yaw sensor with a new one that supports HSA. Since a specific date that I don't remember right now, Opel started to use HSA-capable yaw sensors for all ESP-equipped cars even if the HSA option is not purchased by customer. Determining the version in your car is easy using your car's VIN number.

Finally, your new ABS control unit has to be programmed using another VIN number (not your car's VIN) that belongs to a car equipped with DDS (and HSA if needed). This is the tricky part as I explained in my first post here.

That's all for now, please feel free to ask any question if and when you need help.

    Cheers,
    Serdar

    Hello everybody,

After Cruise Control, Trip Computer, ESP-Off, HSA and DDS retrofit projects, my next goal was to implement "Front Seat Heating".

Normally I wasn't too eager for this feature because the seat upholstery should be removed to install the heating pads and the possibility of damaging the upholstery was too risky. But a friend of mine found an expert specialist upholstery shop and they did a great job, so I decided to do it too.

I ordered the 4 piece of heating pads (one for the cushion and one for the back for each of the front seats) and the new switch unit. The pads came in 10 days, and I took them to the specialist shop. They removed the seats from the car, removed the upholstery from the seats, installed the pads in their places and then laid the upholstery back, all completed in 3 hours.

Yesterday the new switch unit has arrived and I completed the installation in my Opel service today.

First, the radio and the upper cover of center console are removed, 5 new wires are attached to the switch unit connector. The new switch unit is installed, then cover and radio are mounted back.

The cables are laid behind the console to the BCM unit and attached to the connector there.

The pad connectors are connected into their sockets under the seats.

Lastly, the heat seating feature is activated via Tech2 and the system is started working :top:

Ich hab ihn seid einem Jahr drunter und bin voll zufrieden damit.

Is it possible for you to make a video or sound-only recording of the exhaust, and post it to Youtube or somewhere ?

I'd like to hear its sound before I bought it :)

    Cheers,

None that I know of, unfortunately. But it is one of my future projects, so if and when I realize it, I would definitely share the information.

    Hi! Very good tutorial!
Some time ago I wrote a manual for the German guys about retrofitting the ESP-Button. You can find it in the wiki.

    Hello Sebastian :)

I have read your manual and it is my source of inspiration for this project :]

After reading it, I decided to take things a little further, and now here I am with my HSA- and DDS-equipped little Corsa :auto:

Thank you very much for the effort you spent preparing the manual. :top:

    Hello, and thanks! :)

For ESP Off function, you need only new switch unit that contains ESP Off button. That switch unit has six buttons, so if your car currently two-button switch unit, you will also need a new upper console cover that has a wide aperture for the six-button unit.

It is a little tricky to find the correct part numbers, so you have to be careful when ordering the new parts. When you decide to start this project for your own car, I can help you about that using the chassis number (VIN) of your car.

As for the pin numbers :

From: Pin 11 of switch unit connector --> To: Pin 28 of BCM connector (X13)
From: Pin 12 of switch unit connector --> To: Pin 13 of BCM connector (X13)

    Tech2 activation :

    1. Body --> BCM --> Variant Configuration --> ESP/TC Off Switch --> Yes
    2. Body --> IPC --> Variant Configuration --> ABS/ESP --> ABS/ESP for OPC

HSA and DDS functions are another story, I can provide help about that too.

    Cheers,
    Serdar
