    Hello everybody,

I'm happy to announce that my car has arrived in Izmir, and it's currently on the trailer-truck coming to Istanbul

They said that it will be arrived at the dealer on the night of Thursday 19th, and licensing & registration process will be started on Friday.

I had asked before, for a special license plate that has me & my wife's initial letters on it. If I actually order it, the registration process will take longer, up to Tuesday. Otherwise, if I settle for an ordinary license plate I can collect my car Saturday...

I'm trying to decide now...

    Hello everybody,

I've been still waiting for my Corsa to be delivered, but in the meantime I keep looking for some little toys for her :)

I was thinking that if I would buy some accessories for my new car, they should be "bespoke" products, such as Steinmetz's and Irmscher's (manufactured specially for Opels), even if such products are a little expensive than others.

A couple of weeks ago I sent a message here about Steinmetz pedal set, some of you might remember that. I also sent e-mails to Steinmetz themselves and also to Irmscher, asking about their pedal-set products. But strangely, Steinmetz never responded to my e-mails, and Irmscher responded way too late. I think they don't care about selling only one piece ?(

Anyway, in the end I realized that I spent too much time and energy for just a piece of accessory, so I started looking for other brands. Then I found Isotta's ALU-11 pedal set and FR-11 footrest. I liked them a lot and purchased them for € 70.- This price looked to me like a bargain when I compared them to Irmscher & Steinmetz prices.

I know this all sounds funny : I don't have the car yet, but I'm buying a pedal set!..

But I just can't wait doing nothing!.. This way I get over my impatience a little bit :)

The photos of the set are below, I like to hear your thoughts.

    Hello Dr.Eyk,

I wish you happy and safe rides with your new car. :)

    You are not "autolos" anymore!..
I guess you'll have great joy while changing your signature

    Hello everybody,

I'm interested in buying some accessories for my new Corsa D.
A metal pedal-set is one of the things I'd like to have.

The baby hasn't arrived yet but this won't stop me from buying some toys for him(or her?) :)

I saw Steinmetz's kit at http://www.steinmetz.de/produk…aktuell/corsad/index.html (at the bottom of the page) and I liked it. I sent them an e-mail but there is no response after 4 or 5 days yet. Also so-called "Steinmetz distributor" in Turkey doesn't know anything about these products.

    The products are :
    Alu-Pedalset, 3-teilig
    Alu-Fußstütze

Does anybody here know how much do these cost ?

Thank you very much for the info.

Today I talked to my sales rep.
She checked the status of my order and told me that my car is scheduled to get on the ship on third week of July, if everything goes well. Also she seemed positive about the delivery on first week of August.

I'd like to be as hopeful as her, but the cruise from Spain to Izmir would take a week-or-so, docking & unloading a couple of days, customs procedures at least a week, then land transport to Istanbul a day...

Anything can go wrong at any of these steps, and unfortunately, something always does go wrong here in my country...

Anyway, I'll stop thinking negative

But who knows maybe you are lucky and you will get it much earlier

There's a saying in Turkish : "God made you say that"
People say it when they wish something to happen so much and somebody else gives voice those expectations. I hope God made you say that

    Hello everybody,

Sorry again for writing in English, I wish I had a good command of German so I could fully understand what all you wise & experienced people here have been writing about the new Corsa.

Also please excuse me for introducing myself so late, I was, and still am, so excited about having placed the order of a brand new car for the first time in my life :)

Currently I've been driving a white '97 Corsa B 1.4 GLS with near 300,000 kilometers on the clock. It's our company car since 2000 when it had 40,000 kms. I still share it with my business partners and it still keeps giving me funny & enjoyable rides, both in town and long journeys along the Turkish coasts.

    I've also been driving a flame-red '96 Turkish-built Fiat Uno 1.4 i.e.
It's my wife's car but she doesn't like to drive it anymore since she had a minor accident, broken the front bumper crashing to the rear of a car, so I drive it from time to time and I like that car too :)
I will definitely miss it, because we have to sell it by the time our new Corsa arrives...

I always have so much to tell and can't write anything short, I should have close now informing you about the car I've been waiting :

    1.4 Sport, 5-doors, Red
Standard 16" alloy wheels with 5-double spokes
    Options checked : Panorama-roof, ESP
    Ordered at 31.05.2007
Expected delivery date : First week of August 2007

    Best regards,
    Serdar

By the way, I'd like to ask about something :

I'm not sure 100% but I think, Turkey, like some other countries, gets Corsas from Zaragoza, not Eisenach.

I'm trying to guess about the factors which may have some effect on the delivery date.

Does anybody here know when & how long Zaragoza plant closes for summer holiday ? July ? August ?

    Regards,
    Serdar
