As long as it doesn't hurt the environment, of course I want more power. And the power increase that I want, is not like an AMG or M engine with 400hp, just 10 hp more for my small engine to cope better with the weight of the car.

And for the people who don't want any more power, there are always lesser choices.

    Hello everybody,

I've just read an article in the last issue of Auto-Zeitung, about Opel's and VW's comparable plans for near future. The article mentions about the power upgrades for Corsa :

Ende 2008 wird die so genannte "Motorenfamilie Null" von 1,0 bis 1,4 Liter wegen der Euro-5-Norm auf die doppelte Nockenwellenverstellung umgestellt. Der 1.2-Motor leistet 85 PS, der 1.4 dann 100 PS.

I always said that Corsa range needed a petrol engine between 90 and 150hps. I think Opel finally heard me saying that :P

Anyway, I just hope that this upgrade would be easily applicable to existing petrol engines!..

    Hello Anna,

Welcome to the forum, and my greetings from Istanbul to Moscow...

There are simply not much opportunities to speak English here so I'm happily taking this one :)

I see that you have waited a long time for delivery but it was worth, wasn't it ?

Your little red one and mine are almost the same : 1.4 engine, Sport version, manual transmission, and the great color of bright Magma red... :) The only difference is that mine is a 5-door.

But I'm confused about one thing : You said that yours is a Sport, and I can tell that by the sports chrome exhaust pipe. But why does it have steel wheels and wheel covers instead of 16" alloy wheels which come with Sport as standard ?

Welcome again, and hope you have fun & good time around here...

    Best regards,

1.4 Tjet (turbo) with 120hp will be available soon, I guess. Bravo already uses the same engine. If that looks too soft, the new Abarth with 150hp, and the SS kit with 180hp should be enough for most people, but not for you, I know :)

For me, a naturally-aspirated (non-turbo) 1.6 engine with 110-120hp would be excellent for my Corsa Sport.

I think there is a big gap for Opel to fill, in the petrol Corsa line-up, between the 1.4/90hp and the 1.6t/150hp. I talked about this many times before, I don't understand why Opel don't get the Astra's existing 1.6/115hp petrol engine and put it in the Corsa. ?(

saytamaner: Is your next car a Fiat, again? :P Fiat, Opel, Fiat, Opel and then?

You're right on point!... I never thought about it that way...

I love Fiats (despite all their flaws) and Opels. I might buy any of them anytime. Before I bought my current Corsa, the only other car I considered was Fiat Grande Punto, but Corsa beats it in terms of interior design. I know that Corsa surely beats it in some other departments but my priority was -and is- always design.. 8)

Now only god knows what my next car will be, but it will never be a VW, that's for sure. :D

Thank you very much for your help.
    Sorry for the late response.

Z12XEP, yes that was what I wanted to see. As also sir_d pointed out, it's clear that the BC uses the lines above the odometer clock.

I was thinking about "BC-nachrüstung" but now it seems very difficult to achieve. The instrument panel is a single big piece and it seems that it should be replaced as a whole. I think it's an expensive part and I'm not sure it's worth the time, effort and the money. Also as I saw the "Opel EPC Spare Parts Software"'s database at an Opel service, there are simply too many versions of the instrument panel with miles or kilometer clocks, basic or sport versions, standard or chrome-ringed versions and so on. It takes somebody who is very knowledgeable about all the spare parts, all cars & trim levels etc. to tell which is the right one for my needs and I don't think that such a person exist in my country, neither at the dealers & services nor at GM Turkey...

Anyway, thanks again for your responses,

    Hello everybody,

I need to see a picture of the trip computer (bordcomputer) display in the instrument panel, the one between the tacho and the speedo.

I know that there are more than one types of display available, at least a small one and a large one. My Corsa has the smaller one, with just two lines of information on it. (Just for the record, my car doesn't have the trip computer.)

What I want to know is where exactly the trip computer displays its information. Does it use the lower two lines, (same as odometer lines)
or do the cars equipped with trip computer come with the larger display and use the upper parts of the display for trip computer information ?

I hope my post is clear enough.

I should repeat that the display I'm interested in is the one in the instrument panel, not the TID or GID on the center console.

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated. A photo with trip computer info on it would be the most useful for me.

Thanks, and my best regards to everyone.
