Hello everybody,

After Cruise Control, Trip Computer, ESP-Off, HSA and DDS retrofit projects, my next goal was to implement "Front Seat Heating".

Normally I wasn't too eager for this feature because the seat upholstery should be removed to install the heating pads and the possibility of damaging the upholstery was too risky. But a friend of mine found an expert specialist upholstery shop and they did a great job, so I decided to do it too.

I ordered the 4 piece of heating pads (one for the cushion and one for the back for each of the front seats) and the new switch unit. The pads came in 10 days, and I took them to the specialist shop. They removed the seats from the car, removed the upholstery from the seats, installed the pads in their places and then laid the upholstery back, all completed in 3 hours.

Yesterday the new switch unit has arrived and I completed the installation in my Opel service today.

First, the radio and the upper cover of center console are removed, 5 new wires are attached to the switch unit connector. The new switch unit is installed, then cover and radio are mounted back.

The cables are laid behind the console to the BCM unit and attached to the connector there.

The pad connectors are connected into their sockets under the seats.

Lastly, the heat seating feature is activated via Tech2 and the system is started working
